How do I start a fishing session?

Tap the green Start Session button on the Home tab. You'll be asked to pick a fishing type (Shore, Boat, Kayak, etc.) and the session will begin tracking immediately.

How does the Apple Watch app work?

Open CastIQ on your Watch and tap Start. You can log catches in 4 taps — even with wet hands. Sessions sync automatically with your iPhone in real time.

What is fish/hr and how is it calculated?

Fish per hour is your core performance metric — total catches divided by session duration in hours. It lets you compare sessions of different lengths fairly, like pace does in running apps.

How do I log a catch during a session?

Tap the green Log Catch button during an active session. You can add species, length, lure, and outcome. On Apple Watch, Quick Catch gets it done in 4 taps.

Where is my data stored?

All data is stored locally on your device. Elite subscribers can enable iCloud Sync in Settings to back up across devices via Apple CloudKit. We never store data on our own servers.

How do I restore my purchases?

Go to Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used to purchase.

How do I delete all my data?

Go to Settings → Privacy → Delete All Data. This permanently removes all sessions, catches, and gear from your device. This action cannot be undone.

Does CastIQ work offline?

Yes. Session tracking, catch logging, and all core features work fully offline. Weather forecasts and solunar data require an internet connection.
